Kennel

Kennel Star of Regulus’ is a 2-family kennel owned by Ena and Birger Jensen together with daughter and son-in-law Kristina and Henrik Jensen. |

We have had dogs in the family since 1979, and in 1991 we got our first
Leonberger - then we knew that we had found
"our breed". The interest grew bigger over the years and in 1999 we got our kennel name, Kennel Star Regulus’. It was difficult to come up with a suitable name, as we
wanted a name with some relation to the Leonberger breed. Finally we chose the name Regulus, which is the main star in the star constellation Big Lion.
In 2005 we finally had the pleasure of receiving
our first litter on the kennel. |

We live on an former farm in Ørslevvester,
between Ringsted and Sorø. We have convertet
the 4-wing farm to a 2-family residence with
plenty of room for the dogs, which of course
live as an integrated part of the family. Outside
the dogs can enjoy our surrounding area of 10,000 square-meters.
Our week-ends are often spend on training or
shows, besides being together with the dogs this
gives us the opportunity to meet with many of
our good friends from Denmark and abroad. |
We are members of the Danish Kennel Club (DKK) and the Danish Leonberger Club (DLK),
Ena and Kristina have both completed the DKK
breeders course and Kristina has also taken the
extension which goes into further detail with
the genetics. We will do our best to only breed
on healthy and harmonious dogs, which also complies with DLK's requirements for admittance to the puppy list. |
